Save the Date!!!

April 16 - 18, 2021

Posted 11-17-2020

Postponed until April 16 -18, 2021
Due to COVID-19, a decision has been made to cancel an in-person CPRCNA until 2022. We share your disappointment that we cannot come together to celebrate recovery.
The financial challenges of cancelling our convention have put a tremendous burden on our Region. Funds were spent on convention merchandise, deposits for vendors, accommodations, and events before we received notice that the convention had to be cancelled. While it is our hope that these expenses will go to future conventions, we are still in an extremely difficult financial predicament.  Fortunately, many of our venues and vendors have been extremely understanding and are willing to work with us as best they can.
We need your support. Please consider donating to CPRCNA.
As we continue to evaluate future CPRNA conventions, we ask you to please consider donating your registration. This will make a huge difference in our ability to solve our financial crisis as a result of the cancellation. If for whatever reason you can’t do that, please email: and let us know what you want us to do regarding your registration:
❖ Donate it to CPRCNA; or
❖ Request a refund
If we do not hear from you by December 31, 2020, your registration will be donated.

Dear NA Members,

On March 16, 2020, due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus), Maryland’s Governor Larry Hogan prohibited social gatherings of more than 10 people in accordance with guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  In accordance with this prohibition, the Board of the Chesapeake and Potomac Region of Narcotic Anonymous, Inc. has cancelled the upcoming Chesapeake and Potomac Regional Convention of Narcotics Anonymous (CPRCNA) scheduled for April 17-19, 2020.

Rescheduling this year’s convention to a later date is not feasible as it would coincide with Ocean City’s peak summer season.  The increased cost for accommodations and related expenses would be too expensive for our members during that time.

We hope you and your families are healthy and safe.  We appreciate your continued support of CPRCNA and look forward to seeing you at next year’s convention in April 2021.

Please refer to the Convention Oversight Committee’s (COC) frequently asked questions for additional information.

In loving service,

Board of Directors

Chesapeake and Potomac Region of Narcotics Anonymous, Inc.

Dear NA Members:

The Chesapeake & Potomac Region realizes there is a great deal of concern regarding the upcoming convention to be held on April 16-19, 2020 in Ocean City, MD.  We are not taking the concerns lightly.  The safety of the CPRCNA attendees and the Ocean City community is our main concern.

We continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 (coronavirus) updates/guidance set forth and will follow any guidelines and/or restrictions that may be imposed by the state of Maryland.

At this time, we are in the process of making a decision on the status of the convention.  We will have a definitive answer on the status of the convention for our members by Saturday March 21, 2020, at the latest.

We ask for your patience and understanding during this time and we assure you that we are evaluating what will be best for the safety of our members and the Ocean City community which is of the utmost importance.

In Loving Service,

Regional Service Committee (RSC) Administrative Committee

Regarding the event:  CPRCNA XXXIV, being held on April 16 – 19, 2020:

Our host committee has worked long and hard to plan and organize this year’s event for all addicts to enjoy.  There has been some concern regarding the expanding outbreak of the COVID-19 (Corona Virus), and we wanted to ensure everyone that at this time the event will be held as planned. We will continue to monitor the outbreak, and will follow any guidelines and/or restrictions that may be imposed by the Maryland Department of Health and/or the Center for Disease Control for large events of this nature.

At this time the Maryland Department of Health’s website advises that you should not “attend large events, such as sporting events, conferences, or other community events if you are sick, do not feel well, or someone in your home is sick.” We encourage you to follow these restrictions to protect others and to plan accordingly should you fall ill. We encourage you to please consult with your own medical provider should you have concerns about attending the event.

The virus is primarily spread by coughing/sneezing in the air and direct contact with others that are infected such as handshakes or hugs. It is our hope members attending will be mindful and follow the suggestion of limited personal contact with others. We also ask that you please respect others if they do not wish to have personal contact. This is for their protection and yours.

Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and using an alcohol based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available are your best methods for preventing the spreading of germs.

We encourage everyone to stay informed and to read through the information related to the COVID-19 (Corona Virus), on the Maryland Department of Health and Center for Disease Control websites:

With these precautions in effect we believe that we will have a safe and fun weekend full of recovery together. The Serenity Keepers and Convention Information will have additional information for convention attendees at the convention if any questions should arise.

We thank you for taking extra precautions, and look forward to seeing you at CPRCNA XXXIV.

In loving service,
The Convention Oversight Committee
